The course consists of elements of study concerned with both local development and wider international trade.

Economics in this discipline is applied to measure the impact of agricultural practices and attempts to forecast it. Students are taught to develop advanced numerical skills in mathematical modeling and Econometrics, as well as expertise in analyzing economic or agricultural policies. M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics: What is it About?

M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics is a social science program that focuses on economic methods and tools employed in solving agriculture-related issues. Enrolled students are taught to

Enrolled students are also offered practical experience in rural surveying or planning, farm management, or other types of agricultural work. These applications are often essential for trainee jobs and such work experience opportunities.

Eligibility for M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics

The aspiring candidate seeking admission to the course, as a minimum criterion of eligibility, are needed to have:

  • Completed graduation in the discipline of Agriculture from a recognized university.
  • A minimum aggregate score of 60% (50% for SC/ST candidates) at the levels of 10+2 and graduation.

M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics: Admission Process

Admission to the course is provided to eligible candidates on the basis of performance in a relevant entrance examination, which is conducted either by the concerned institution or at the State or national level. A cut-off score is set for the examination and students clearing that are eligible for the counseling process.

The counseling process comprises two additional rounds of Group Discussion and Personal Interview, wherein the candidate’s general aptitude for the course is examined, and seats are allotted to qualifying students.

Although, there are some colleges in India that provide admission on the basis of marks scored in last qualifying examination (graduation).
